Quality of Practice Evaluation
In Quebec, all professional orders are governed by the Professional Code, which entrusts them with the mandate of protecting the public. As part of this mission, the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) administers a professional inspection program developed by its Professional Inspection Committee.
Through this program, the ODQ ensures that the dental care provided to the public complies with generally recognized standards of practice. The program’s objective is to carry out inspections of all member dentists practicing in Quebec, at intervals that vary according to certain risk factors
The Program
Since September 2025, the ODQ has implemented a modernized professional inspection program designed to provide better support to dentists and contribute to the continuous improvement of care quality.
This new approach follows a comprehensive review of the former program and allows efforts to be focused where they are most needed.
